The testimonies of convicted criminals linking Sen. Leila de Lima to illegal drugs may carry much weight if they are taken as a whole, Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Monday. Lacson said the statements of convicts including Jaybee Sebastian and Herbert Colanggo appear to complement each other, at this stage of the House hearings. “Mabigat. Di lang kay Jaybee, pati ibang testimonies. Di natin alam as of now kung totoo pero sabi nga ni Rep. Veloso, (kung) standalone walang value ang mga statements. Pero pag tinahi-tahi mo, meron kang mabubuo na conclusion,” he said. He also said that while the convicts’ testimonies may be doubtful, he cannot just dismiss what they said as hogwash. Lacson particularly noted two agents of the National Bureau of Investigation had testified about giving payoffs to de Lima. “Kung ako personally from an investigator’s point of view, hindi mo pwede i-dismiss ang allegations na hogwash. Pwede sabihin natin e mga preso, mga convicted yan. How about the NBI agents who issued their affidavits?” he said.
